The East Atlanta Kids Club is a nonprofit, out-of-school mentoring and enrichment program for under-resourced girls and boys ages 7 to 17. The program began with a dozen youth and a handful of community volunteers. They now offer a rich variety of educational, recreational, and mentoring opportunities to more than 100 youth each year, free of charge.
East Atlanta Kids Club manages and operates the Brownwood Recreation facility to host their programs for underprivileged children. The facility is in current need of renovation. To support this mission, volunteers from Deloitte Consulting and Cbeyond are helping to create a new classroom, fitness space, work space and storage room. The center’s computer lab will also be upgraded, including the creation of a new wireless network that will be used by the program’s youth members as well as its staff. U.S. Micro Corp has donated computer and networking equipment that will significantly enhance the Kids Club’s technology network, as well as its computer education programs.
