In 2011 U.S Micro opened a $20 million, 130,000 sq. ft. IT recycling and distribution center that provides the infrastructure necessary to support it's closed loop process. IT equipment is refurbished and demanfactured onsite without using third parties. Using proprietary technology, U.S Micro turns e-waste into raw materials for the commodities market.
U.S Micro views reselling or donating IT assets as the highest form of recycling, by refurbishing approximately 90 percent of IT equipment that it receives. The other equipment is EPA-compliantly recycled; no IT assets ever end up in a landfill.
